Our baby girl was diagnosed with croup on the Friday, prescribed a steroid to help her breathe, then diagnosed with hand foot and mouth over the weekend.
By the Monday she was extremely poorly, her skin appeared inflamed, weeping and sore as well as a high fever and cough. The surgery saw her within 3 hours of me completing an econsult and liaised with A&E paediatrics to get her seen immediately in hospital.
The hospital diagnosed a bacterial infection and prescribed antibiotics.
However, our baby could not take these as they made her violently sick. I phoned the surgery and again, within a couple of hours, the GP had issued a more palatable antibiotic and was very reassuring and helpful.
Our baby is now on the mend and I am extremely grateful for the speed and care the GPs at Southview Surgery acted with.
"Excellent care for our one year old"
