I went to the hospital with my mum and dad to get some teeth taking out, I was very worried about going as I didn’t know what to expect and I thought it would be sore.
When I arrived on the ward all the staff were really nice and very helpful, they were always reassuring me. My playworker, Nadine, was very kind and made sure I was okay, she offered me arts and crafts to do while I was waiting, which I really enjoyed as it was Halloween week which is my favourite. I also went through to see the play area where there were lots of toys and books to play and read.
When it was my turn to go through to theatre I got worried again but the doctors came round to get me ready before I went through and gave me some medicine to help me relax. My mum and dad gave me lots of cuddles and told me I would be okay. The doctors were very helpful and the medicine did help.
I remember feeling sleepy and when I went to theatre, I had a green mask to help me sleep, it had an apple scent which was nice.
I don’t remember anything until I woke up and it felt very quick from when I fell asleep.
I woke up and the nurses, doctors and my mum and dad were there. I felt fine just a bit sleepy. I went back onto the ward where I got to rest and the best part was the ice lolly and apple juice, they were so tasty.
It wasn’t long before I got to go home, I was feeling so much better after my ice lolly. I said goodbye to all the nurses and staff at the hospital and said thank you for looking after me.
