"Fantastic care across a number of departments"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Acute assessment unit Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Ambulatory Care Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Neurology Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Urgent Care Centre Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Xrays & Scans

(as the patient),

I attended the Emergency Department with symptoms that were eventually diagnosed several weeks later as Lyme Disease. The care in A&E was exemplary, particularly the junior doctor who arranged for me to be admitted and undergo a range of tests.

My care was taken over by Dr Becket and he did not leave any stone unturned to secure a diagnosis and treatment plan. His care was unbelievably good. He and his equally superb junior doctors were so kind, as were the staff in the AAU, ACU and the Urgent Care Centre who looked after me so well, particularly the 3 Senior Registrars who performed the lumber punctures that led to my eventual diagnosis.

I would also like to thank staff in the CT and MRI unit and the Neurology consultants who  helped with the diagnosis. Finally, I would like to thank Dr Farmer, my Infectious Diseases Consultant, and his colleagues who have been so supportive.

I regret not keeping a note of everyone’s name so I could mention them all as they deserve.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for your kind words about the care you received. We’re so pleased to hear that your journey through diagnosis and treatment was handled with such compassion and professionalism across the different teams involved.

It’s especially lovely to know that the radiology staff within the CT and MRI contributed positively to your care and aid in your diagnosis. Our Radiology team always strives to provide safe, efficient, and reassuring care, and your feedback will mean a great deal to them.

Thank you again for sharing your experience, it’s always encouraging for our staff to know their efforts have made a difference. We wish you the very best in your recovery.

Kind regards,
