I know we’re fortunate to have an excellent vaccination service, however the vaccination bus turned out to be two ambulances. These offer little to no privacy, are cold and have access issues. These are not practical for the purpose they’re set to provide given it’s winter and many using the device have mobility issues. Given you’re forced to stand outside to wait there is absolutely no shelter! It’s the middle of winter so why wasn’t this considered? This service was advertised as a vaccination bus! The staff are fantastic but I don’t envy them having to work on open sided ambulance in the middle of winter.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m sorry to hear about your recent experience and appreciate you raising these concerns.

Our vaccination buses are used in areas where it isn’t possible to access suitable buildings, helping ensure that people who may find it difficult to travel to one of our main vaccination centres can still receive their vaccine locally.

I recognise that the current vehicle setup can present challenges, particularly during the winter months, and I’m sorry this impacted your visit. I’ll share your comments about privacy and accessibility with the team so we can consider what improvements can be made.

Thank you also for your kind words about our staff, who work hard to provide the best possible care in all circumstances. I’ll make sure your feedback is passed on to them.
