My husband had a massive stroke in March 2025 leaving him disabled with a clear left sided weakness and only able to use a wheelchair and transfer with a hoist.
He was to attend for a review and the ambulance collected my husband at 1pm and arrive at hospital just before 2pm. Was seen by a nurse shortly after 2pm but was still awaiting to be seen and 3:30pm and was unable to wait any longer due to pain sitting in wheelchair and carers arrive at home before 5pm.
Why cant patients who travel by ambulance not be seen as a priority? They do not have a choice at what time they are picked up.
