"Play team"

About: Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (Edinburgh) / Play Services

(as a parent/guardian),

the play team (Emily) at Lochranza ward is amazing and is such a huge part of our journey.

Our son takes a while to warm up to people and he doesn’t just like anyone, he now shouts for Emily and calls her “his Emily”.

Nothing is a problem for Emily and has helped calm our son in the worst conditions. Not only has Emily helped our son but has also helped us when I couldn’t leave for food etc.

We are only half way through our journey but already can’t thank Emily enough for what she does.

Dear Marchnm43,

I am sorry that your family is going through this at the moment and would like to thank you for taking the time to post your feedback about Emily.

I am Emily's Line Manager and I will make sure that Emily sees these lovely comments. She too will appreciate you taking the time to share your comments.

It sounds like Emily has created a strong bond with your son and I am glad that he has found someone to trust and relate to whilst he is in hospital and I am sure that will continue through his journey.

Best wishes

Margaret McEwan
