"Exceptional Gynaecology Ward at Altnagelvin"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Ward 43 Gynaecology FAU/EPAU (Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit)

(as a service user),

I was admitted into Ward 43 last weekend after severe abdominal pains after a miscarriage. The care a received while staying there was second to none. The doctors were fantastic but it was the nursing team in particular that blew me away. Their care, compassion and kindness during a physically painful and emotionally difficult few days will never be forgotten. As I was in over a weekend, there were many nurses looking after me and every single one was truly amazing. I am so very grateful to the nurses, the staff who brought the meals, the lovely man who brought me cups of tea and biscuits, the staff who kept the ward in such a clean condition, every single one worked so hard and maintained a smile throughout their busy shifts, they couldn’t have done enough for me. I will never forget these angels, thank you all so much.

Firstly let me apologise for not responding to your care opinion in a more timely manner and offer you my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your pregnancy.

I want to thank you for taking the time during a difficult journey both personally, physically and emotionally for taking the time to convey your thanks to all the staff of Ward 43 who cared for you.

Sometimes on our hardest days kind words and actions of others can make things feel a little better and it is clear from your story this was the case.

I will be sure to pass on your thanks to the staff of Ward 43

Please rest up and take of yourself

Leanne
