I had to go in for surgery on an umbilical hernia that had been troubling me.
From the very start of the process at pre op at Bideford hospital through to my discharge at the end of the day at NDDH my care was of the highest order.
As someone who has morbid complex PTSD, I was listened to when I explained my worries and all of this was taken into account and acted on.
The staff through out were unbelievable, kind and understanding and explained every stage. The booking in staff on the ward were excellent, knew exactly what was happening with no fuss. The surgeon was outstanding again explaining everything before hand and after.
The anaesthetic team were the same, kind calm and understanding and understood my requests. Finally the in house care team with catering and support for my wife.
You can not fault the service provided by everyone and we are both extremely grateful for the care given to us both and made an anxious time easier and much calmer.
I would name you all personally but I can’t remember any as I was away with the fairies for most of the time and my anxiety prevents me from remembering the names. I can not thank you all enough. You were all amazing with your care throughout. Thank you.
"My care was of the highest order"
