It’s extremely difficult to access appointments through the online booking system. There never seem to be any appointments available, and there’s no information provided about when new slots are released. This makes it impossible to plan or know when to check back.
Additionally, the online information regarding HPV vaccination states:
“We recommend some men who have sex with men receive vaccinations for Mpox and Hepatitis A, and those under 46 years of age should also receive Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccination. HPV infection causes genital warts and certain cancers, in particular anal cancer. You can access these vaccinations free of charge from most sexual health clinics.”
However, in practice, accessing these vaccinations or even getting an appointment to discuss PrEP has been very difficult due to the lack of available slots. It feels like services that are meant to be accessible are being denied simply because appointments cannot be booked.
It would be really helpful if clearer information were provided about when appointments become available, and if more availability were made for essential services like vaccination and PrEP discussions.
