I visited the surgery because I had a hearing test that suggested I had mild hearing loss in one ear and moderate in the other. I was referred for a hearing test which took place in October 2025. The person who conducted the test said I needed a referral to ENT.
I received the letter to make an appointment (the letter took one week to arrive). Why couldn't this information be sent by text or phone?
I have a choice of 5 clinics. 2 with shorter waiting lists, can't book an appointment. 3rd clinic appointments in March 2026, but can't book. Earliest appointment in April 2026 - six months !
This issue affects my daily life and my ability to do my job. This waiting time is outrageous. There is no option to ask for a cancellation or keep checking for a sooner appointment. Surely 6 months is not acceptable to wait for a referral?
