"Experience of treatment"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics Riverside Surgery

(as the patient),

I had carpel tunnel syndrome in both hands, This was causing significant pain and numbness in the night which made difficulty in sleeping The tests at Hull in September 2024 showed negligible nerve reaction in the thumb forefinger and middle finger.

I had a procedure for this on my right hand in August 2025 at Riverside and a subsequent injection to relieve a pain in the same thumb a month later. This was all very successful and everything is back to normal with minimal scarring, which seems to be fading day by day. I had the left hand done in October 2025 and already can feel the difference.

Thanks to all as I can now sleep and sure I will be able to return to my hobbies in a few weeks. The procedure was carried out and healing is relatively painless and would suggest anyone suffering should not be hesitant to undergo the procedure.

Would have been nice if the gap between testing could have been less than 11 months but all is well now

Thanks again to all
