"Treated her with dignity and respect"

About: Inpatient Unit

(as a relative),

My sister was admitted to St Andrews hospice in October she sadly only had a few days there but the care she and us as a family received from everyone was outstanding. The staff treated her with dignity and respect in her final days we as a family could not have wished for any more. We were allowed to stay overnight as well with her.

From the reception staff the staff in the cafe and even the domestics were all amazing but the nurses and doctors are like real life earth angels and I could not praise them any more, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the care given to my sister we will never forget it.

Dear Barra,

I am really sorry to hear about the death of your precious sister. I hope that you and your family are coping with her loss as I am sure that it continues to be a difficult time for you.

I note that you were here at St Andrew's Hospice for a few days and it is lovely to hear that during that time our care made a real difference to your sister and to the family. We always aim to deliver the highest most compassionate standards of care that we can and I am glad that you found this to be the case. The final days of a person's life are so important and we see caring for the family alongside the patient as a priority. Patient's often tell us that they want to see their families and loved ones cared for during this sad time.

It is also nice to know that you felt that staff from all parts of the Hospice were excellent. They will all be delighted to hear your feedback.

Thank you so much for sharing a little of your story. It means so much that you have taken the time to give such lovely feedback even though you have gone through such a lot.

Hearing a story like yours ensures that we continue to develop and to deliver services that really meet the needs of those using them. We always welcome any suggestions that you might have or ideas to consider on how we can continuously improve.

Thank you once again and please remember we are still here if you need any further support,

Warmest regards,

Margaret
