"Blood tests in new room"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / Out Patients Department

(as the patient),

I am writing to express my concern regarding the recent decision to move the blood room into what is essentially a cupboard.

Firstly, I would like to acknowledge the staff who work in this area — they are absolutely amazing. Throughout my cancer treatment, they have been an incredible source of support, not just to me but to many others who rely on their professionalism and compassion.

However, the current setup raises serious concerns. The lack of space, poor ventilation, and limited accessibility make the environment uncomfortable and, frankly, claustrophobic. This is not only impractical but also a health and safety issue that should not be overlooked.

It’s easy for decisions like this to be made from a logistical standpoint, but it’s essential to consider both staff wellbeing and patient care. The staff deserve an appropriate working environment, and patients deserve to know that their care is being carried out safely and efficiently.

I would be more than happy to discuss this matter face-to-face, as it’s important that this situation is properly addressed. There is always a solution — but this current setup is not it.

You have an excellent team; please don’t waste their dedication by placing them in unsuitable working conditions.
