After experiencing a traumatic birth and the devastating loss of my baby, I found myself struggling daily—not just emotionally, but in every aspect of life. I felt isolated, overwhelmed, and unsure of how to move forward. That’s when I was referred to the Beacon Maternal Mental Health Service.
From the very first contact, I felt heard and understood. The team offered a safe, compassionate space where I could begin to process my grief and trauma. The psychological support I received was tailored to my needs and helped me make sense of the complex emotions I was facing. The therapists were incredibly skilled and sensitive, and they helped me explore the impact of my experience on my mental health and my relationship with parenting.
The sessions were challenging at times, but they were also empowering. I learned coping strategies, gained insight into my trauma, and slowly began to rebuild my confidence. The service didn’t just help me survive—it helped me begin to heal.
I’m so grateful that a service like Beacon exists. For anyone experiencing severe fear of childbirth, PTSD after birth trauma, or perinatal loss, this service can be life-changing. It truly is a beacon of hope.
