I was diagnosed with CHI after 3 miscarriages and referred to Dr Keag in the Fetal Medicine Team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
From the first meeting Dr Keag showed patience, warmth and kindness.
She was a wonderful support in navigating our options. We fully trusted in her experience and felt she really went the extra mile - specifically in getting specialist advice from a colleague in London due to the rarity of the condition.
When pregnant again and following the agreed treatment plan we were also treated by Dr Cooper who was another huge support to us with her calm and reassuring approach, in particular around the Amniocentesis where she helped us navigate a difficult decision. I felt in such safe hands when she carried out the procedure.
Throughout the pregnancy there were 2 midwives from the Fetal Medicine Team, Pam and Susan, who were wonderful. It made such a difference seeing their friendly faces on each visit to the hospital, particularly around the worrying times where the outcomes were more uncertain.
It is now 4 months since our beautiful baby son was born and I continue to be forever grateful as I believe that if it were not for Dr Keag, Dr Cooper and the rest of the Fetal Medicine team then he may not be here.
