"Staff spent time addressing any anxieties we had"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Neuro Intensive Care Unit (Ward 61) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Oral Surgery & Medicine ( Wards 63)

(as a relative),

My partner attended QEUH A&E towards the end of Sep 25 due to rapidly increasing neck swelling from a recent dental procedure. Despite the obvious pressure on the service the A&E staff were wonderful.

A special thanks to Dr Denny who brought us from triage to resus providing clear and concise rationale for all planned investigations. Max fax attended promptly and within a short number of hours my partner was in theatre with planned recovery in neuro critical care.

The care he received in critical care and ward 63 was exceptional. I am so grateful for the kindness and compassion shown to me from the nursing staff in CCU while my partner was in theatre. Ms Wu attended daily, she was reassuring, thorough and kindly spent time addressing any anxieties we had.

On discharge we were provided with contact details direct to max fax should any concerns arise over the weekend, although it wasn't needed, it was reassuring to have the safety netting in place.

From triage to discharge the care my partner received in these settings was remarkable. There is very obvious pressure and demand across the service, despite that, we were met with kindness and smile during a time of distress.

Our enormous gratitude extends across the staff in A&E, neuro CCU and ward 63.
