"I needed a prescription for my heart condition"

About: General practices in Greater Glasgow & Clyde

(as the patient),

I was treated badly by a receptionist at my medical practice. I cried the whole time, because I could barely walk, I had palpitations and chest tightness, it was difficult to get to the location, because it was my first time accessing the service as a student immigrant. I was feeling I was going to die if I didn’t get the medicine, I even wanted to wait around at the reception for the next appointment but they said No. They were very mean.

Dear Olivera,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am sorry to hear how distressed you felt when trying to access care and medication for your heart condition. No one should feel unsupported, especially when experiencing symptoms that are frightening and urgent.

GP practices are independent contractors and manage their own systems for appointments, feedback, and complaints. As they are not registered to respond via Care Opinion, we recommend contacting the Practice Manager directly to raise your concerns. They will be best placed to look into what happened and ensure this is addressed appropriately. You should be able to find this information on your local practices website.
