My wife was diagonised with dementia around six months ago and suddenly I was plunged into a world of fear and unknowns. I was immediately contacted by the Rotherham Memory service to attend a meeting to access my wife's condition headed by Ms. Brown.
Following this meeting which give me a clear outline of the condition past, present and future I felt more confident in dealing with my wife's condition. This was followed by a home visit by Ms. Brown who gave us all the details concerning medication and many contacts covering all the various aspects in connection with the condition including carers assistance, medication and help /community social days etc.
We have now had our last meeting with the Memory service and are now in the hands of the NHS medical team which I enter with some trepidation following the excellent service we have received from the Memory team who have shown such empathy and understanding .
I would like to mention Ms Brown and Mr Jones in particular for guiding us through a very black and bleak period but thanks to you both we feel we now have the confidence and knowledge to deal with most situations.
Thank You
"They have shown such empathy and understanding"
