"Both kept him very informed"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Outpatient Department

(as a relative),

My son was nervous as hadn’t had bloods in a while, he had emla cream applied before coming to hospital but was still a bit nervous. Fiona the senior staff nurse who was taking the bloods (and her assistant who I can’t remember her name) were very good with him, offering some cold spray and asking for his permission before doing anything to him. And both kept him very informed with what they were doing, before carrying anything out.

Overall a very positive experience

Dear Sarahc88,

As the Senior Charge Nurse for Outpatients at the Royal Hospital for Children, I’d like to sincerely thank you for taking the time to share such kind feedback about your recent visit to our Outpatient Treatment Rooms.

I’m especially pleased to hear that your son received such compassionate, respectful, and informative care from Fiona and her colleague. It’s so important to us that children feel safe and supported during their treatment, and I’m delighted that the team helped ease his nerves and kept him fully involved in the process.

I will ensure your lovely comments are shared with Fiona and the wider team, feedback like yours truly means a lot and reinforces the value of the thoughtful care our staff strive to provide every day.

Warm regards,
Mhairi Stirrat
