"Support groups and parenting programs"

About: Family Support Hubs / Family Support Hub - Hamilton

(as a service user),

I became a single parent when my marriage broke down and struggled with being on my own. I have mental health issues with anxiety and depression and want to be the best parent I can be to my kids. My boys are 5 and 3 and my eldest has additional needs.

I self referred to the family centre in Burnbank for support. I have attended support groups and parenting programs. I felt supported & found it welcoming. People were understanding and friendly.

Dear Cheetahqj93

Thank you for your recent Care Opinions post and I appreciate you taking the time and consideration to do so.

It was lovely to hear that you found the support groups and parenting programs were both welcoming and of some benefit in you meeting the challenges you described and in you finding the strength and resolve to tackle them.

I will pass on to my colleagues that you found people in the groups and programs to be understanding and friendly.

Feedback such as this is always a boost to everyone across the Hubs; and helps us grow and develop groups and services in the future; my thanks again and offer my best wishes in all you and your children achieve in the future.
