"treated with dignity, compassion and respect"

About: Mater Hospital / Elective Overnight stay centre (EOSC)

(as the patient),

I was an out patient in the eosc. I was having a day procedure, the removal of my gallbladder. Every interaction I had with staff today was excellent, even when I went to the wrong reception desk i was adviced of the right one and given directions. I ask a nurse where lifts where she escorted me a then took me to the ward. Over and above.

From the minute I entered the ward I was treated with dignity compassion and respect by ALL staff, however a special shout out goes to nurse Shiny. She is an incredible and kind person. To Emmett who was so patient and crystal clear at explaining the procedure. He has done this hundreds of times yet he taled through it like it was his first. To the anesthetist who warm and confident face assured me so much. Then to the theatre staff who all said hello and identified their role. For the explaining of the threatre processes. Thank you.

The lovely kind staff in recovery who had to continually prompt me to take deep breaths and deep breathe and did so with such patience and courtesy. Then back to the ward expertly driven by the female porter and abley assisted by my named nurse shiny who promised me she would be with me the whole way and so she was. To the seamless discharge and pain medication ready and explained to getting home and receiving a phone call to say id lefy something behind. Honestly is been by far the best patient experience I have ever had. If you could bottle it and clone the healt service would be fixed by Christmas. Thats a very special team you have. This should be rolled out as an exemplar. 5 stars 🌟
