"Kind staff in abundance"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

Centre for Women’s Health Exeter

I firstly saw a consultant for a face to face in May 25 regarding a very overdue Mirena coil removal.  I had previously, in 2000, had a c section and the spinal block didn’t work properly so during the surgery I became aware of a huge amount of pain. It was dealt with brilliantly but since then anything genealogical has caused me huge anxiety. However, the consultant was very kind and reassuring so after six years putting it off I attended the removal appointment late October.
Although I was really anxious as soon as I met the consultant and nurse staff they put me at ease and the procedure was dealt with.
Afterwards I had a sight concern and the secretarial staff were absolutely amazing and answered my query straight away. Such lovely staff. I can’t thank them enough.
A big part of any hospital visit is kind staff and this was in abundance at my appointment.

Dear memberem,

Thank you for taking the time to post some feedback. I am so sorry that you have been through such a difficult experience in the past as this certainly has a big impact on your feelings and anxieties towards any further interactions within women's health. I am really pleased that our team were able to put you at ease, reassured you and showed the kindness you needed to undergo the procedure. I hope this has helped alleviate some of the anxieties you have for future appointments if they were to become necessary.

I will share you feedback with the team.

Kind Regards

Emma Saunders
