"Needle embedded in foot"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Accident & Emergency Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Day surgery

(as a service user),

I was playing VR and I stepped on something but didn’t know what it was. It was still sore the next day so my mum and dad took me to A&E where I got an X-ray of my foot. The X-ray showed a needle was inside my foot and they couldn’t get it out.

I had to go into hospital the next day for surgery  to remove it. Everyone was really nice and I was made to feel happy. I was able to play Xbox and paint a pumpkin while I waited and I got an ice lolly too!

Hi Woodpigeon991

Thank you for saying such lovely comments about your visit to day surgery. I'm sorry that you had to have emergency surgery to remove the needle and hope now your foot has recovered.

I'm pleased that you were kept entertained while you waited and that the ice lollies helped to stop you being so thirsty.

I'll make sure that all the staff see your comments and again thank you.

Kind regards

Suzanne Pearson
