"All done efficiently and with friendly staff"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Xrays and Scans Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

Woke with chest pain and called emergency service.

Paramedic Dougie and student arrived. They were both very calm caring and professional, both reassuring and friendly that put me at ease while in pain. Good banter which was appreciated while we awaited Ambulance and good distraction on how I was feeling. Sorry I can't recall student name (amazing ginger hair)

Ambulance paramedic team arrived and handover efficient and care transferred seamlessly. Lovely paramedic pink hair i forgot her name but they had student Isla with them. Again cannot fault care and attention of the team.

Arrived at QEUH and delay as waiting time of 4.5hrs, very busy but the team were great until I could go through to triage. A further ecg bloods chest xray etc all done efficiently and with friendly staff.

The wait for assessment results was to be expected and understandable with pressures on dept and prioritising of cases.

Thank you junior doctor Valerie for her care attention and reassurance.

Thank you to all night shift teams who looked after me from 1am through to 10am.

Very thankful grateful for you all and the NHS.

Hello bravofe87,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for taking the time to express such kind words. I’m responding on behalf of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

I’m delighted to hear that Dougie and the student, as well as the ambulance team, were calm, caring and professional and that their reassurance and friendly approach helped put you at ease during what must have been a worrying time. It’s lovely to know that their good humour and efficient handover made a positive difference to your experience.

They’ll really appreciate you sending these kind comments in. If you’d like us to share your message directly with the crew, please send a few details to sas.feedback@nhs.scot so we can match it to the call. We’d need the name, date, time and address of the call out. It would also help if you include your Care Opinion username so we can let the crew know your story came from you.

Thank you again for taking the time to write such a thoughtful post. We wish you well in your recovery.

Warm wishes,
Marie
