A no-waiting service is how I would describe the RCDS unit at Victoria Hospital.

No sooner was I referred by my GP, I was contacted by the team, given an initial consultation, and then a CT scan. The results showed that I have two shadows on my lungs, which will require further investigations. The RCDS team have referred me to the Respiratory Unit.

Whilst I have no complaints with the RCDS Unit (excellent, by the way), I am still waiting for contact from the Respiratory Unit.

This is after a month, and it is worrying me that I have had no contact to date.

It’s great to hear that our team were able to see you so quickly and provide such an efficient service. That kind of responsiveness is exactly what we aim for, and I’m pleased it gave you confidence at a difficult time.
I completely understand how worrying it must feel to be waiting for the next stage, especially after learning about the shadows on your lungs. A month without contact can feel like a very long time when you’re anxious for answers. I’m sorry this has caused you concern.
I’ll make sure your feedback is passed on, and I would encourage you to reach out to your GP so they can check on the referral and update you. You deserve clarity and reassurance, and we want to ensure you’re not left feeling uncertain.
