"I am starting to sing again"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Speech and Language Therapy

(as a service user),

I was seen by Georgina following a visit to a laryngologist.  I was really anxious about my voice, having strained it the previous year.  Georgina attended the laryngologist appointment when the camera was inserted into my throat.  She reassured me that there were no nodules on the vocal chords and she set up 2 appointments with me - one for an initial follow up, and then another for that follow up.

She understands voice dynamics, and the exercises proved very helpful.  Now I just have to continue using them!  Importantly, my voice gets strained much less when I am speaking, and most importantly for me and my wellbeing, I am starting to sing again!
