About: Maternity care / Maternity and Gynaecology outpatient clinics

(as the patient),

My husband and I are just home from our anomaly scan at Craigavon Area Hospital. We did not have a good experience with this scan during our first pregnancy, which left me feeling very anxious about the second. 

I honestly cannot express how amazing our sonographers were. Chris and Jennifer instantly put me at ease, told me everything they could see and asked me on several occasions if I had any questions. 

I feel, Chris, in particular was born to be in a caring profession. Without knowing my history, he could sense I was anxious and did everything in his power to make me feel more comfortable. 

I know for many, pregnancy and scans are a very exciting time. To me, I find it very stressful constantly worrying if everything will end up ok. Chris and Jennifer have eased a lot of this anxiety and I am so grateful for this.

I would like to thank you for your lovely comments regarding your anomaly scan experience in Craigavon. Our team appreciate all feedback, but it particularly good to get such positive reinforcement for good patient care. Pregnancy can be a very concerning time for many parents and it is great that all is going well. I am glad that the sonographer was able to ease some of the anxiety and provided a positive experience in what can be a very stressful scan appointment.

I have shared your comments with Chris and Jennifer and also with our wider sonographer team.
