"Painful procedure"

About: Ottery St Mary Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

Prior to this appointment, I had a Cystoscopy done, which was done with no pain, and have nothing but praise for the nurse who did it.

After that appointment, I rebooked another appointment, and asked for the same nurse.

However, when I arrived at Ottery St Mary's Hospital, and walked in the room, there was a different member of staff. When I questioned this, they gave me some reason to do with short staff.

This procedure then turned out to be very painful. It looked as if the equipment was 10 years old because of the size of it. The procedure goes through the urethra, and I believe the equipment was twisting itself around due to the size.

Post op, I was in a lot of pain when passing urine.

Dear cafedd79

I am sorry to hear that you had a poor experience for your second procedure.

I would be grateful if you could contact me on ann.hunkin@nhs.net or 01392 404507 so that we discuss this further.
