"Great care following a fall"

About: Bideford Hospital / Therapies

(as a relative),

After a nasty fall, my elderly mother had an injury that made walking, sitting and moving extremely painful.  Every day activities such as showering were difficult and frightening, meaning she couldn't manage without daily support. After several weeks, the injury was not improving, the ongoing pain and inability to get out and about or look after herself was really getting mum down, and the GP wasn't able to suggest anything further.

Vikki from the Bideford Health and Social Care team was an absolute breath of fresh air, instantly organising some bathing and mobility aids that gave mum her confidence and independence back, and arranging some physiotherapy advice that has really speeded up her recovery and helped her manage the pain. Thoughtful, cheerful, kind and respectful, Vikki's professionalism and effectiveness has made all the difference, not just in stopping the decline caused by the injury but just as importantly making mum (and us!) feel supported and practically helped at a time when we needed it most.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback about the service you received from the Bideford Community Rehab Team and especially from Vikki.

I am so sorry to hear that your mum had a nasty fall resulting in a painful injury causing her to have reduced mobility and difficulties in doing her activities of daily living.

It is wonderful to hear that the assessment and input Vikki gave your mum has improved her quality of life and helped her get her mobility and confidence back. I'm so pleased to hear mum has improved with Vikki's input and her encouragement helped you all feel supported.

I will pass on your kind words to Vikki and the rest of the Bideford Community Rehab Team.

Many thanks once again

Susan
