"Excellent care"

About: Maternity Care / Postnatal (Ward 22) University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care

(as the patient),

I had an elective c section in April, never had surgery before, so I was terrified, but I had such a positive experience, everyone was so friendly, caring and lovely, from the midwife to the surgeon and all the medical personnel in the operating room. I will never forget the woman the hugged me and stroke my shoulder while I was getting the spinal.

Unfortunately my baby had to spend a week in neonatal, however everyone there was so lovely as well and they really helped us and supported us in very challenging times.

Everyone in the post natal ward was so nice, from the midwives to the dinner lady to the lactation consultant that explained what options I had while my little one was in neonatal and I couldn’t breastfeed.

Thank you so much to everyone

Dear Susfy84,

Firstly, congratulations on the birth of your baby, I hope you are all doing well.

Thank you for taking the time to post this really lovely feedback for our Unit at such a busy time for you.

It can be really daunting to be having surgery at any time, so I was delighted to hear that you had such kind and compassionate care during your op, and also that your postnatally you were met with fantastic person centred care by everyone and that your breast feeding journey was especially considered.

Despite your little one being admitted to the Neonatal Unit, it was also heartwarming to hear that you were both well supported and cared for by the lovely staff.

We will pass your kind words onto all the staff and am sure they will be really delighted!

Thank you once again,

take care

Carole
