I was referred to neurology for a wound wash out as this wound had become infected.  Thankfully I landed in ward 66, where in my opinion I received the best care ever possible.  The staff are friendly, they go the extra mile to help you and to make your stay comfortable.  I'm glad I was in 66 as I was here for over a month under the watchful eye of a top consultant.  I over the years have attended many other hospitals, but to date I have not found or have felt so well cared for.  However every cloud has a silver lining.  If  I  could make any recommendations from my stay please see  the following :
1.  The beds could do with new mattresses. They are curled  up at the edges and they don't fit the bed frames.  Sadly the mattress have more lumps and bumps than route 66 these are very uncomfortable especially if you have spinal injury.
2.  It can be rather warm and a nice jug of water is provided to you as many times as you need it.  But the water in the jugs are warm and distasteful, can I suggest that the ward  consider a water cooler-even on a trial basis.  This would make a world of difference for the patient and your staff.
Ward 66 is the place to be.
I'm sure by now I will be long gone and just a distant memory.  However I'd be grateful if the above recommendations were considered under the patients charter.
