"Only positive support was from mental health nurse"

About: Community Services (AMH) / East Primary Care Network

(as the patient),

I had enough of poor mental health for a number of years. I tried to get an appointment with my GP, only to be told there are no appointments. By chance Sarah took my call, mental health nurse. That phone call changed everything. She listened to me as person, not as a diagnosis. We worked together for a solution. I wasn't well and i used the crisis team for a while. The solution was to take more medication. Came to a point i didn't want to be here anymore. I had gone through the system, after a suicide attempt i was still left alone. I saw Sarah again and we worked out a plan. I got into therapy. The only positive support i got was from Sarah. Crisis team were indifferent and some help. I understand that everything is under funded.

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback in relation to accessing support for your mental health. it sounds like you have been going through such a difficult time but that you are now feeling like you are getting the right help and support.

I will ensure that Sarah receives your feedback, I am so pleased that you felt listened to and that you worked together to get a plan together that is now working for you and that you are now receiving therapy. I hope that this continues and you feel the benefits from the therapy moving forwards.

I wish you all the very best for what is to come.

best wishes

Barbara Taylor
