"PICC Line"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy

(as the patient),

I was in hospital for quite a while and got a lot of cannulas and blood taken at the same time. I also had to get a TPN.

My veins got that thin it became impossible to get blood or put a cannula in, my arms where left badly bruised.

Once i got the PICC line in my life became easier, i no longer got poked and proded. It was brilliant and I would recommend it.

Hi dancefc79,

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave such positive feedback.

I will be sure to share this with the Home IV coordinators from the OPAT team who fitted your PICC line.

I am so glad this will negate the need for over prodding you with cannulas and I hope your ongoing treatment is successful.

Take care and thanks again,

Yvonne
