I recently attended Tameside General A&E with my adult son, who has epilepsy and learning difficulties. He had suffered a Grand Mal seizure in the street, fallen and gashed his head.
He was triaged promptly, and had a CAT scan during the night to check for any bleeding, swelling or skull fractures. The A&E was busy and we did have a long wait, but when he was eventually seen, the A&E doctor who treated him was excellent. She was extremely thorough and easy to deal with. She clearly explained what the CAT scan had shown, told us what else would be needed (more X rays just to be sure no chest damage), administered pain relief, antibiotics and a tetanus shot, stapled the head wound and got my son treated and discharged very efficiently. A very effective Doctor and so grateful for the quality of treatment. I am sorry I did not get her name but if you can pass her our thanks and best wishes that would be much appreciated. My son has now had his staples removed and his head wound has healed well. Best wishes
