"Daisy Hill is an excellent hospital"

I was admitted for day surgery to Daisy Hill Hospital Elective Ward to have my gallbladder removed. I would to say a huge thank you to all the team who looked after me during my overnight stay there. 

Firstly I would like to thank Gillian, Mr Mahmood’s secretary for being so kind and helpful in getting me booked in for the surgery and helping me with the last minute issues with bloods the day before. Also to Ethina and Rachel in preop for talking me through things and sorting out the bloods issue. Thank you also to Colleen in the blood room in DHH for her care and attention whilst I was there. 

Thank you to everyone on the Elective ward for looking after me before and after my surgery. To the nurses Julia, Ursula, Dinah, Deirdre and student nurse Fianait for taking such good care of me during my stay when I was feeling horrible you were so lovely and I felt so well cared for, nothing was too much trouble for you all and I really do appreciate all you did for me. Thank you also to nurse Fiona in theatres for her care and attention and to the recovery nurses who were all so brilliant and kind, I’m sorry I can’t remember your names but I am so glad you were there to look after me.  

Thank you to Dr Kumar the anaesthetist for looking after me whilst I was under the anaesthetic I really appreciate it. 

To Mr Mahmood, Mr Babiker and the surgical registrar, apologies I have forgotten your name, for you kindness, care and attention before, during and after my surgery thank you for helping me to feel better and for being able to remove the gallbladder with great skill.

I cannot thank you all enough, I was not nervous before my surgery because I had full faith in all of you and my faith was absolutely rewarded. Thank you all so much for your kindness, care and attention, you all made the experience so much easier and I will be forever grateful to you all. Daisy Hill is an excellent hospital and its staff are fabulous also.
