"Frustrating that staff didn't know they don't do child blood tests"

GP visit for my young daughter.

Lovely service from the doctor. Recommended a blood test for my 6 year old and she prescribed us numbing cream for us to pick up and use on the day of the arranged blood test. Went to reception, explained and was sent a link to book the blood test. Managed to get one for 5 days time. Looked back later and it had “ failed.” Rang surgery and phone was answered quickly. Was told that they don’t do blood tests for under 12s and it would need to be done at hospital. Was sent another link by another colleague from the surgery to book in - next available date was December. Booked this and saw that it was actually also for Beversbrook. Rang back again , answered quickly. Explained that I’d now been sent two booking links for a service that they apparently do not even offer. Was given a choice between two hospitals for the blood test and then told I had to email and book it myself .

It was really frustrating that staff ( doctor, receptionist and the two colleagues who sent me separate links to book for my 6 year old daughter) didn’t know that Patford House don’t do blood tests for people under the age of 14. To then have to contact the hospital and book it myself , was annoying .
