"Waiting time and pain"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Attended A&E around 11am one morning after a fall, in I excruciating pain. Had an X-ray at around 11.30 needed strong analgesia so x-ray was agony.

It got to 6.30pm and I had not been seen since.  Asked 4 times for analgesia  no one got back to me.

I was in agony.

Dear Tangone66,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience following your recent visit to our Emergency Department. I’m truly sorry to hear about the pain and distress you endured while waiting for care, and I want to sincerely apologise for the delay in receiving analgesia and attention.

This is not the standard of care we strive to provide, and I understand how difficult and frustrating this must have been for you. Your feedback is incredibly important, and I will ensure it is shared with the relevant teams so we can reflect and learn from your experience.

Wishing you a smooth and full recovery, and thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

Warm regards,

Julie.
