"Helped me get through my time at hospital"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Blossom Ward (Paediatrics) Craigavon Area Hospital / Pharmacy

(as the patient),

At the start I was feeling very scared and was crying a lot. But then someone on the team came and told me about what was going to happen and I felt much better. After I woke I had some problems actually waking up. After that I had some tea, toast, (with jam) and some biscuits. Then a few people came to my room and were really friendly and offered to get me some food.

The only negative I will bring up is that the script that I needed took a while to be delivered. After that it was smooth sailing. Got out to the car and drove off. Four stars. Please kindly take note of what I have said about the script.

Hello Viper656,

Thank you for sharing your experience on Blossom Ward, we really do appreciate it. I know it is such an anxious time when you are unwell and in hospital. I am so pleased to hear that you were supported by the team and that they took the time to explain to you what was going on. It is lovely that they were so friendly and kept checking on you.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the delivery time of your medication from the Pharmacy Department. I am sorry for the delay dispensing your home medication - this is not something we want to delay but sometimes, the Pharmacy Department can be extremely busy and delays are unfortunately unavoidable.

I will be sure to pass on your kind words to the staff on Blossom Ward and I will feedback to Pharmacy re delays in dispensing medication.

I hope you have made a fully recovery and I wish you all the best.

kind regards

Jodie

Good afternoon Viper656,

Thank you for taking the time to share your personal experience of the care you received while you were in Blossom Ward.

I'm sorry to hear that you were very scared and crying when you first came to the ward. I'm glad that someone explained what was going to happen and that it made you feel better. I'm sad to hear that you had some problems waking up. It's good that you got some tea, toast and biscuits, especially the jam!

It's nice to hear that you found the people that came to your room really friendly and offered you food. On Blossom ward we aim to make sure that our staff are friendly and that we make sure our patients are provided with food.

I'm sorry to hear that you had to wait for a while for your prescription. Unfortunately, sometimes the pharmacy department can be quite busy throughout the day which can result in prescriptions taking some time to be delivered to the ward.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.

Ruth
