"The care we received was amazing"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Day Surgery

(as a parent/guardian),

Our son had to attend the day surgery department for the removal of some teeth under general anaesthetic. Naturally we were very nervous, however the care we received was exceptional.

Firstly the reception staff were extremely welcoming and helpful (despite being kept busy). Secondly the surgeon her self who performed the procedure was excellent. She was very informative, kind and generally had the most lovely and calming manner.

The anaesthetist that spoke with us also was amazing he was extremely helpful and not only explained everything fully to us, he also allowed us to make informed decisions our self about our son's care.

Our son having not slept a wink the night before was fast asleep throughout the whole pre-op preparation which made his care slightly more tricky. The care plan recommended by the anaesthetist was 100% the right one for our son and everything went as perfect as it could go.

The nursing staff also were exceptional in their care of not only our son but us too. They were rushed off their feet and yet went above and beyond for us.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we were walked to the doors to go home, the care we received was amazing. I could never thank them enough for making what was a very scary and stressful day as easy as possible. Every single member of staff that we had contact with were absolutely amazing and we are so grateful.

Dear February87,

Thank you so much for your feedback.
We’re grateful you took the time to share your experience with the Day Surgery team at University Monklands Hospital. It’s completely understandable to feel nervous when your child is undergoing a procedure, and we’re so pleased to hear that our staff helped make the day as calm and reassuring as possible for you and your son.

Your kind words about the reception staff, surgeon, anaesthetist, and nursing team will be shared with them.

Thank you again for your lovely message and I hope your son is recovering well.

Kind regards

Claire
