I honestly can’t thank everyone at the Day Surgery Unit in Queen Margaret enough. What a fantastic team - from start to finish, they made me feel completely supported and cared for.
I was met at reception by Susan, who introduced herself and showed me to my bed. Then I was inducted into the ward by Dawn and student nurse Haddy (who, as an aside, is going to make the most wonderful nurse- she’s so kind and just super lovely!).
Dawn was incredible the entire day- running around after everyone in a really busy ward. Nothing phased her, and every single patient received the most attentive care, even when she was under pressure. Such an angel!
The anaesthetic team were also amazing- so friendly and reassuring. They each came to introduce themselves before surgery, which made all the difference. In the anaesthetic room, they kept the mood upbeat with brilliant banter, which really helped keep my anxiety down.
In recovery, Mark was wonderful- so friendly and chatty, making sure I was comfy (and assuring me I wasn’t saying anything too wild post-op! 😂).
Back on the ward, I met Kim, the physio, who was absolutely brilliant- so encouraging and genuinely hilarious.
From start to finish, the whole experience was second to none. Every single staff member I encountered was amazing- so hard-working, kind, and couldn’t do enough for you. I feel so grateful for the NHS and this incredible service.
