"A rare appendix cancer"

About: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital / General surgery The Wellington Hospital University Hospital Wishaw / General Surgery

(as the patient),

Near Christmas 2024 I went to my doctor with stomach pain. I was still in pain through to the early hours of Christmas Day. My wife called 111 an I got an appointment at 6pm with the out of hours hub. The doctor examined me, he said I think you need to go to hospital. He phoned the surgical team at the hospital and they admitted me that night. I was operated on in the morning for my appendix.

Later on that night the surgeon came to visit me, she said that she couldn’t remove my appendix as it was welded to other parts in my stomach and bowels etc. The surgeon Linda, was amazing to say the least. The next couple of months Linda spoke with her advisors in the Hampshire Basingstoke malignancy peritoneal hospital.

In April my husband was taken into the Wellington South Hospital and operated on for a very rare appendix cancer which had spread onto other areas. Mr Moran, the surgeon from Basingstoke came to London and done a fantastic operation on my husband. Which he has made a great recovery.

This is all down to two fantastic surgeons who provided the best of care and treatment that you could never have imagined in your lifetime. All of the other nhs staff who were involved in this need a big thanks too. Myself and my wife will be forever n their debt. Thank you just doesn’t cover it❤️🙏 to you all.
