Our twin daughters were born in the royal at 27 weeks. They had a swift arrival via emergency section and were so tiny needing immediate respiratory support and intensive care.
They were transferred to local hospital after 6 weeks, are now 11 weeks old and will be home very soon.  we can’t commend the staff in the NICU highly enough. The consultants registrars doctors nurses, healthcare assistants and technicians all were amazing. They were so professional efficient and dedicated in dealing with all the  challenges our girls faced. They looked after them with empathy and compassion and we always felt assured they were In Safe hands.
They also took great care of us as parents and made sure we were ok as well as additional support from breast feeding nurses and the whole mdt.
The meal vouchers and parking vouchers also helped make the experience as easy as possible
I won’t name individuals in fear of missing someone but we are so grateful and thankful to all in the NICU.  My husband and I both work in healthcare and have experience of many facilities and we have never seen a service that works together so well as a team and providing absolute top quality care
