"Imaginary appointment"

About: Norwich Community Hospital

(as a service user),

I was told via NHS app. to attend an appointment at the local hospital to see a podiatrist at 10.30 am today. Feeling breathless and unwell (awaiting heart surgery) I went because my feet have been so painful and I thought this is one thing I can get sorted easily. The receptionist searched her computer in vain trying to confirm my appointment . Despite having my correct details she could not find any record. Two minutes before my appointment time and being unable to get a signal to get up the app to prove I should be there, she discovered the problem. Apparently what I was sent was not an actual appointment but a pre appointment date and time needed to confirm my addition to the waiting list. When I reach the top of the list a real appointment will be send to me by post. What an utter waste of my time with information I didn't need to know, never mind the waste of NHS resources and funds.

Hi Salfq83

Thank you for taking the time to post your recent experience about attending Norwich Community Hospital regarding information you received via the NHS app. I am sorry to hear that your attendance at the hospital was not what you expected and that you felt unwell as a result, that must have been frustrating for you and can understand your view on being a waste of time.

I can certainly pass on your experience to the Podiatry team regarding your feedback but would also encourage you to contact us directly through our PALS and Complaints team so that we can investigate for you directly.

You can contact us on complaints@nchc.nhs.uk Tel: 01603 697381 or PALS pals@nchc.nhs.uk Tel: 0800 088 4449

Kind regards

Christine Little
