"Rheumatology Appointment"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Rheumatology

(as the patient),

I recently went to see my rheumatologist, as I had been on biologics it was unusual for me to see this particular one. For the first time in a while I felt listened to, he related my condition and some side affects from the medication, rather than my previous visit where it made me feel like I was pressured into taking the medication again, even though it made me feel ill and I kept getting infections.

For the first time in over two years, my physical symptoms were checked, it was like going back to basics, but felt like a proper trip to the specialist rather than being told what to do.

It was refreshing and it definitely lifted my spirits as to getting some sort of plan in place to help me control the pain and manage the condition.

Many thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback. I am delighted to hear that in your recent appointment you felt listened to and were happy with the care taken in your review. I will pass this on to the team.

I am sorry you have felt pressured in your previous appointment. If you would like and are happy to send in your details to rduh.rheumatology-northern@nhs.net we can look into this further.

Kind regards,
