I was referred for ADHD diagnosis by one of the GPs. The RTC providers terms of acceptance required the GP to agree continued shared care. I feel they were negligent in not telling me that after I had been diagnosed and had my medication stabilised that they wouldn't accept a shared care agreement. This left me in a seriously frightening position.
At the age of almost 60 I finally had found out what was impacting on so many parts of my life and had the medication which changed my life. Yet the practice was prepared to leave me without medication and in extreme stress about the situation which I'd been put into. I was told if I felt suicidal contact the Samaritans! My complaints were not dealt with as a priority, and when they were they were not prepared to help. My complaints to the NHS went in their favour, I don't know how as I had all the proof downloaded from my NHS online account which clearly shows what I believe to be their negligence.
I have now moved to a new GP which accepted my shared care agreement and wish I'd moved my family years ago. I find Allerton medical centres buildings depressing, old fashioned and are totally unsuitable for many patients who are neurodivergent or suffer other mental health issues. We have been at the practice for decades and remember when it had so many good caring GPs.
