"About my son, grieving for his father"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was absolutely distraught after losing his dad just before Christmas last year. He has Asperger's so has found life extremely difficult. Also, we've had new neighbours moving in so for him, two very big changes in his life.

He has been seeing Claire in Corringham for sessions and has improved immensely. Claire has made him feel comfortable about talking about his feelings and indeed when he has become very emotional on several occasions Claire has been extremely sensitive towards him.

My son has developed a really good relationship with Claire and he is really sorry that his sessions have now ended. I feel that with the help he has been given he can now try to move forward with his life. Claire has been an immense help both to him and myself (I always joined my son towards the end of each session so that Claire could tell me what had been discussed between them) Claire is brilliant and a really excellent counsellor.

Dear coinje67,

Thank you for taking the time to share about your son's experience with Inclusion Thurrock talking therapies. We are honoured to have been a part of your son's healing process.

I am sorry for the loss your family experienced, and I can only imagine how deeply that must have affected him, especially with the added challenges of change and his Asperger’s.

I am pleased to hear how much progress he has made through therapy, and how Claire was able to create a safe, supportive space for him to express his emotions. Building that kind of trust is so important, and I am glad to know it was effective for both of you.

Your involvement in the sessions and your support have clearly played a vital role in his healing, and it is encouraging to hear that he now feels more able to move forward.

I will certainly share your kind words with Claire as I am sure she will appreciate it.

Wishing you all the best to both of you on your continued journey.

I hope that you feedback will encourage others facing similar difficulties to seek help.

Kind regards,

Ann
