"Healthier strategies to deal with Anxiety and Depression"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as a service user),

I have had experience with counselling and psychotherapy services in the past. Particularly around catastrophising and macro stresses which I have worked through and continue to practice.

However, as work has gotten top of me, and dealing with micro stresses, I had fallen back into unhealthy coping mechanisms that were ultimately damaging me both mentally and physically.

My most recent use of therapy has reminded me of all the skills I had previously learned and apply them to real world scenarios. It was a matter of having someone guide me and make me realise that a worry is a worry and they are dealt the same.

I am now giving myself the opportunity to slow down and re-evaluate. Being kind to myself and offering that space for me to work through this.

Dear Che,

Thank you for taking the time to share about your experience with Inclusion Thurrock talking therapies. We are honoured to have been a part of your healing process.

You have done a lot of meaningful work in the past, and it is inspiring to hear how you have been able to reconnect with those skills during your recent therapy sessions.

Recognising the impact of micro stresses and how they can build up over time is an important insight, and it is encouraging that you have taken steps to address them. It is wonderful to know that therapy has helped you reframe your worries and reminded you of the tools you already had to manage them.

Giving yourself permission to slow down, be kind to yourself, and create space for reflection is a powerful act of self-care. You should be proud of the progress you have made and the commitment you have shown to your wellbeing.

Wishing you all the best on your continued journey.

We hope that you feedback will encourage others facing similar difficulties to seek help.

Kind regards,

Ann
