"The nurses, doctors and staff were second to none"

About: St John's Hospital / Emergency Medical Assessment

(as a relative),

My wife was admitted to the EMA at St John’s, Hospital in Livingston, West Lothian.  Her symptom were shacking uncontrollable, sweating, sore bladder and kidneys.

As soon as she was seen bloods were taken and a consultant seen her.

The consultant prescribed antibiotics and fluids, brought her temp down and stopped the shaking.

The nurses, doctors and staff were second to none. It was so reassuring to see professional at the height of their career. Cool, calm and collective and a privilege to see.

Thank you for sharing your experience following your wife's recent admission to the Emergency Medical Assessment (EMA) unit at St John’s Hospital, Livingston.

As a Clinical Nurse Manager, I moved by your account of the care she received. Your recognition of the nurses, doctors, and staff as “second to none” speaks volumes. The professionalism, calmness, and compassion demonstrated by the team clearly made a significant impact, and it is a privilege to see such dedication in action.

I will be sharing this feedback with the wider team to support future learning and to highlight the importance of timely, person-centred care. Positive reflections like yours not only affirm the value of our work but also inspire continued excellence across our services.
