"Excellent Care Post Spinal Surgery"

About: Neurology / Ward 23B - Surgical Neurology

(as the patient),

I honestly cannot put into words the excellent care I was provided with in Ninewells hospital Dundee Scotland.

I was admitted to Ward 23 to have my operation the next day.

As you can imagine any operation is very worrisome but for me after having pain in my  lower back and legs for years I welcomed my Laminectomy/ Decompression but I was still very nervous about the whole process.

The care and attention received by all on ward 23B was one to none.

On the day of my op I was introduced to Student nurse Tessi who not only ran past information with me but cared for me all the way down to the operating theatre and on returning to the ward later on popped in to see how I was doing.

The Anaesthesia team was on hand to keep my mind occupied with small talk and reassurance which I was grateful for.

On returning to the ward post op Staff Nurse Claire and her team made me as comfortable as they could.

Right up until the day I was leaving it was so important for the staff and myself to feel as if I mattered and felt at ease with my post aftercare at home.

I also need to praise my surgeon Dr Solth who performed my operation , again the reassurance pre-operation, the information and the outcome of my operation has just been exceptional.

Hi Lor23B,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this lovely feedback which I will share with the whole team.

Coming into hospital for surgery can be very stressful and I am very happy to hear that you felt well supported and cared for during your stay with us.

On behalf of the whole team we wish you a speedy recovery!
