"Turned breastfeeding journey into a more positive one"

About: Children, Young People and Families and Specialist Primary Care / Infant Feeding

(as a service user),

I was struggling with expressing breast milk, which I needed to provide top-up feeds to my baby to help him gain weight, so I was referred to the Infant Feeding Team.

I was informed that home visits weren’t possible due to the high acuity but when I explained that I couldn’t drive or get to the drop-in sessions, I was put in touch with Jodie.

She was able to see me the next day and she was amazing! She was open, honest and explained things in a way that worked best for me. She addressed and resolved a lot of my anxieties and together we created a plan that would enable me to follow the feeding management plan from the Midwives.

My baby has now started gaining weight and I no longer dread pumping! Jodie has helped turn my breastfeeding journey into a more positive one and I’m so thankful!
